Egg Industry News
In spite of the inherent-cruelty involved in the egg industry, profit is the driving force like in any industry. Christians and anyone concerned about the welfare of egg-laying hens, should keep in mind that even though the egg-industry might improve the conditions in which hens are kept, free-range and organic has been misleading terms.
The only way to ensure that egg-laying hens are treated as God desires, is to stop exploiting them for the pleasure of human’s taste. The following article refers to this mega industry and its development in the UK.
A major merger is taking place in the UK egg-industry. Deans Foods and Stonegate are merging into Nobel Food giving this new company 46% control of the UK’s egg supply. According to the news, Nobel Foods, will continue offering different approaches to egg marketing. Stonegate recently spent £5m (9.18m) in upgrading facilities at its dedicated free range and organic egg packing operation.
