More on mad cow disease
Sadly, the 8th case of bovine spongiform encephalopathy (B.S.E.,
a.k.a. “mad cow disease”) was confirmed by the Canadian Food Inspection
Agency (CFIA) on August 23, 2006. In this case it was a mature beef cow
in Alberta Canada. More information has been released on the previous
cases of mad cow disease and the CFIA announced in June that their goal
is to eliminate mad cow disease within the next 10 years by banning
specific cattle tissues capable of transmitting mad cow disease from all
livestock feed and pet food.

Until the time comes when we stop exploiting and torturing animals
for the sake of profit, taste, etc. we will continue to battle diseases
like the one above. We’ve turned animals into simple commodities, going
against the very basic laws of nature, instituted by our Creator. If we
stopped raising cattle in unnatural ways and moved toward a plant
based-diet, BSE would probably disappear much sooner than 10 years from
now.
