More benefits of a plant-based diet
A study published in the
International Journal of Cancer shows evidence that endometrial
cancer risk increased as protein and fat from animal products
increased. The study followed 1,204 newly diagnosed endometrial
cancer patients and 1,212 women without cancer in China. The women
who derived their diet from plant-based sources had a lower risk.
Another study, from the Journal of
the National Cancer Institute, showed that women with higher intake
of plant lignan (a plant estrogen found in a variety of fruits,
vegetables, and cereal products), had a 17 percent lower breast
cancer incidence than those who consumed the least.
