Link between Cancer and Weight
One of the largest medical studies
ever undertaken was published in the British Medical Journal and
links cancer to body weight. The study tracked the health of 1.2
million women age 50-64 since 1996, looked at the relationship
between cancer and BMI -- a function of weight compared to height,
and it confirmed what scientist had suspected: excess weight can
give you cancer, especially cancer of the esophagus, endometrium,
ovary, kidney and pancreas, as well as leukemia, multiple myeloma
and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
