California Prevention of Farm Animal Cruelty Act — Proposition 2
The Oct. 8 editorial in the New York Times titled "Standing,
Stretching, Turning Around," urges voters to support the California
Prevention of Farm Animal Cruelty Act — Proposition 2 on the state’s
November ballot — that would ban the confinement of animals in a way
that keeps them from being able to stand, sit, lie down, turn around and
extend their limbs. Rightly, the editorial refers to factory farming
procedures as "horrors" and points to the fact that if passed
Proposition 2 would also help reduce the water and air pollution created
by factory farms.
