The Real Cost of Cheap Animal Products
Americans have never spent less on food before. In fact, Americans
spent last year 9.5 percent of his or her disposable income on food, a
lower percentage than in any country in the world. However, this "cheap"
food is turning to be way more expensive than we thought. For starters,
factory farms, where most animal products come from, have caused
devastation in the environment by polluting water, air and soil, aside
from wasting enormous resources. Our health has also steadily
deteriorated since factory farms became the norm. Meat is laden with
hormones and antibiotics, and bacterial contamination is not uncommon.
Moreover, factory farms cause unimaginable suffering and fear to farmed
animals, most of it unknown by the consumer.

The costs of cheap meat
The extent of damage caused by the animal agriculture industry is of
tremendous consequences for the whole planet and its inhabitants. As
stewards of God's Creation there should be no room for us to support an
industry that causes misery to all of God's Creation: humans, animals
and the environment.
