Proposal to Euthanize Downer Veal Calves
Sick, weak and injured calves are subjected to unimaginable
suffering at the hands of the veal industry. These baby cows,
sometimes only a few days old and with their umbilical cords still
attached, are prodded, kicked and dragged to get them to the kill
floor. There has been documentation of veal calves skinned alive in
front of USDA inspectors who do nothing about it.
A proposed rule from United States Department of Agriculture's
Food Safety and Inspection Service calls for immediate euthanasia of
downer veal calves thanks to the pressure of animal right groups.
The USDA is taking comments until April 8th.

Considers New Protections for Sick and Injured Veal Calves
The rate and degree of abuse that God’s farmed animals are
subjected to is appalling. How are children of God willing to
callously inflict unimaginable suffering to these innocent and
defenseless creatures? Why are so many hearts insensitive to the
plight of suffering creatures? We all share the same essence of love
for we are God’s creations. Isn’t it time to make mindful and
compassionate choices that accord with our beliefs of compassion,
mercy, love and justice taught to us by Jesus Christ? May all people
realize that they have the ability to change their hearts and minds
in order to make a peaceful and loving world, as we are called to do
as stewards of God’s Creation.
