FDA Sued Over Antibiotic Overuse
About 70% of all the antibiotics in America are given to factory
farmed animals in order to promote their growth and keep them alive in
filthy, hyper-confined conditions. The undeniable and obvious
consequence has been the emergence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
Therefore, the Natural Resources Defense Council, Union of Concerned
Scientists, and other health and science groups filed suit this past
week against the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for allowing factory
farms to continue with this irresponsible and unethical practice. This
coalition lawsuit "will force the FDA to pull its head out of the sand
and address this serious threat to public health now."

Groups Sue FDA for Putting Pigs Before
People
For decades, the FDA and the corporations that own factory farms have
been gambling with human health for the sole purpose of profit and
power. It is time that consumers take a stand for their own health, the
environment and the unnecessary abuse of sentient beings, and stop
supporting the animal agriculture industry. I think consumers can
produce a more effective outcome than the FDA with its invested interest
in the industry.
