Because more people are choosing alternatives to cow’s milk, not
just vegans and vegetarians, the dairy industry is attempting to
discredit milk alternatives in ways that are not only surprising but
deceiving. The dairy industry’s latest campaign, “Real Milk Comes from
Cows” (tagline: “many imitations, still no equal”), features soy,
almond, hazelnut and coconut milks and makes reference to their taste,
color and texture using adjectives such as spooky and funky.
Fortunately, most people are not going to fall for these desperate
attempts to discourage buyers into trying delicious, compassionate and
