Cancer-Causing Agents in Cooked Meat

Kathy Freston does an excellent job in this article explaining what the results of cancer studies in the last 2 decades seem to indicate in regards to some of the causes of breast cancer. One of the main culprits appears to be heterocyclic amines, which are cancer-causing agents that form when meat is cooked. In fact, studies concluded that “women eating more broiled, grilled, fried, barbecued, and smoked meats appear to have up to 400 percent higher risk of developing breast cancer.”

Taking care of our bodies the best way we can, including eating healthy foods, may help reduce our chances to develop many diseases, including cancer. This seems logic if we look at what it takes to produce animal products (suffering, fear, death, pollution, hormones, antibiotics, hardness of heart, environmental degradation, selfishness, etc.) and how eating them promotes disease not only in our bodies but also in our minds and souls. Eating a whole-foods plant-based diet is healing for all Creation.
