Christian Vegetarian Association Presents:
Take Heart!
Cashew Cheese
(www.vegfamily.com)

 Ingredients:
 
1/4 cup cashews
1 jar pimientos (the darker, the better)
1 teaspoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons nutritional yeast flakes
1½ tablespoons cornstarch
2 cups water
1 tablespoon mock chicken seasoning
Garlic powder, to taste
Onion powder, to taste
Salt, optional
 
Directions:
 
- In a good blender add dry ingredients first, and then wet ingredients. Mix well. Mix until it looks smooth (1-2 minutes). It will thicken as you blend.
- Pour contents into a saucepan on medium heat. Stir constantly until it thickens.
