Europe's first vegan supermarket opens in Dortmund, Germany
Germany is the place where the first supermarket in Europe opened. Vegilicious, carries over 1500 products including chocolate bars, cereals, veggie meats and 30 different cheese alternatives. According to Kalkowski, who co-owns Vegilicious with wife Kim, "You can have anything you think you might be missing, so there's no need to eat animal products anymore."

Today, veganism is becoming popular and well-accepted because the benefits of a plant-based diet are too numerous and too great to ignore.
