About 80% of the antibiotics sold in the U.S. are used in
livestock. Not surprisingly, researchers have found that this very
irresponsible overuse of antibiotics is leading to the creation of
super-bugs resistant to antibiotics. Of course, the meat industry
refuses to make changes to the way they raise animals in factory
farms and ignore the example of other countries, such as Denmark,
which has reduced their use of antibiotics by 40%.

Factory farmed animals endure conditions that are
unendurable without the regular antibiotics they receive. Humans
exploit God’s animals and in the process reap the negative
consequences, such as antibiotic resistant bacteria.
It is
time to wake up and include God’s animals raised for food in our
sphere of compassion, which would lead to a more peaceful, joyous
and harmonious world.
