According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), live poultry
is the culprit infecting 224 people so far, across 34 states, with
Salmonella typhimurium. It seems the people who got sick had come in
contact with live chicks, ducklings and other live young poultry
purchased from feed stores and sourced from mail-order hatcheries.

What can be expected from the egregious and unsanitary
conditions in which God’s animals are raised and treated for meat,
egg and milk production? Just the mere fact that these animals are
shipped by mail live throughout the country as if they were mere
commodities should be a big red flag in regards to how broken the
human-animal bond is.
