A National Geographic photographer has been arrested for taking
aerial pictures of a cattle feedlot in Kansas. George Steinmetz had
parked his vehicle on the feedlot and was paragliding over it taking
pictures when authorities were alerted. National Geographic is
standing by Steinmetz, and is asking authorities and the feedlot
owner to drop the charges.

Ag-gag laws are making increasingly difficult to expose the
exploitation of God’s farmed animals. The owner of the feedlot would
not have possibly given permission to the photographer to take
pictures of his feedlot; therefore, Steinmetz did what he felt was
necessary to document what was taking place in the feedlot. Let’s
hope that the public demands that factory farms and slaughterhouses
become transparent to the public. If this happened, most people
would choose not to support such hellish places.
