"The average person consumes 20 pounds more in total fat yearly
than in 1970, which partly explains why the obesity rate among
adults has more than doubled since then, when only 15 percent of
Americans were obese." It's obvious that the typical American diet,
full of animal products and therefore saturated fat and cholesterol,
is not conducive to health. A higher intake of fruits and vegetables
seems to be the best way to curb obesity and other diseases.

Dietary Report Card Disappoints
The vast
majority of chronic diseases that people suffer are more likely to
be caused by the food they eat and not by their genes. By the same
token, transitioning to a well-balanced plant-based diet is what
could bring them back to health!
