Central Valley Meat Once Again in the Spotlight
Some of you might remember the case of a slaughter plant in CA, Central Valley Meat, which was found to treat the animals with unimaginable cruelty. Back then, the undercover video that lead to the investigation prompted the temporary shut down of this facility, which still distributes meat to schools via the National School Lunch Program. Recently, the same slaughterhouse has been involved in a new scandal: a meat recall.

We are all connected. When we cause misery to animals we invariably cause misery to ourselves and to the rest of God’s Creation. Our choices have consequences and when we choose to eat misery, sadly we reap misery. The case of this slaughterhouse is even more poignant because the lesson was not learned the first time, which shows how important the role of the consumer is. If there weren’t a market for animal products, slaughterhouses would not exist.
