Should We Face the Truth?
This is a very interesting opinion piece by a parent who clearly states that he wants keep his children in the dark in regards to the massacre of turkeys for Thanksgiving. Dan Kois won’t be taking his kids to watch “Free Birds” because even though he admits that eating animals is not ethical, he doesn’t want the inconvenience that not having turkey for dinner would bring or the inconvenience of unhappy kids at a table where a turkey is carved.

If our meals are based on taste, convenience and tradition then there’s not much hope. This is when the egg, meat and dairy industries have got us in their hands. We should let compassion, mercy, love, sustainability and healthfulness guide our food choices. The result would be an amazing avalanche of love, healing and peace in all of God’s Creation!
