Antibiotic-resistant bacteria is a major threat to public health.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration Agency (FDA) is devising a
plan to curb antibiotic use in livestock, where the majority of
antibiotics are used. According to the FDA 81% of all the raw ground
turkey, 69% of pork chops, 55% of ground beef and 39% of chicken the
agency tested was contaminated with antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
The FDA's plan will encourage the voluntary reduction in antibiotics
used in livestock.

FDA hopes to curb antibiotic use in farms
Antibiotics are used in God’s animals raised for food so they can
survive the conditions in factory farms that include intense
confinement and filth, where disease is very common. Instead of
waiting for pharmaceutical companies and factory farms to voluntary
reduce the use of antibiotics in meat, egg and dairy production, we
should all stop eating God’s animals. Change starts with us and the
effects ripple throughout God’s Creation.
