Ms.
Kucinich, Policy Director for the Center for Food Safety, helps the
reader understand the link between the horrific conditions in which
chickens are raised for their flesh and eggs, and the increasing
rates of food poisoning and antibiotic-resistant bacteria. She
correctly says that when people are truly concerned about the way
farmed animals are treated, then they adopt a vegan diet.

If a chicken exists only to become chicken nuggets, does it really
matter how he lived? The connection between the humane treatment of
animals, health and food safety
While some animals raised for food are treated less abusively
than others, there’s some degree of fear and suffering involved; and
always an early death. Adopting a plant-based diet helps God’s
animals and certainly reduces the risk of food poisoning and other
public health issues. Instead of trying to treat animals less
abusively, it would be much more effective to show them compassion
and not eat them.
