Our Silence About Animal Abuse Promotes Abuse of Humans
Comments by Sierra Nelson - 24 Aug 2003

Dear Frank and Others,

Yes, you are right "desensitize" was the wrong word to use. I just want to be able to converse without going into a sobbing heap as I tell someone.

I live within a mile of a slaughter house and it is just recently that I realize what goes on in there. I just want to cry every time I drive by there. They have in the last year or two, covered the exiting bones, (coming off a conveyer belt) as they fall into waiting trucks.

I know I will have to manage my sadness in order to effectively do good for our cause. Any thoughts that others have had in this regard will be very welcome.

Frank, I will work to do as you suggest......"looking up." I know the Lord will give me the strength to be effective in this endeavor. I ask for your prayers as I learn to manage in an effective way.

Thank you for your help, Frank and your work.
