Our Silence About Animal Abuse Promotes Abuse of Humans
Comments by Tev Treowlufu - 26 Aug 2003
I still don't understand this perspective. We have been discussing this "abuse" for a long time. Why is this abuse of the animals wrong? Is this abuse a sin?
I don't understand how the abuse before an animal is killed is any different from the actual killing. For example, I think this: "...Hey, Yeshua, we aren't going to flog you, or put thorns on your head, or make you carry a cross to Calvary, but we are still going to crucify you on the hill...; Hey, great, thanks guys for treating me nice before you kill me..."
Every particle and subatomic particle in me says that meat eating (and I was once a meat eater), including the pre and post effects of that intention and action, is wrong and a sin; so I do not understand this reasoning tactic. Please explain...
