Christian Bowhunters of America
Is it really Christian?
Comment by Frank and Mary Hoffman - 10 Dec 2007

Dear Wayne:

Thank you for writing and for you comments.

We're happy to hear that you 'like your vegetables, too,' but from what you write, you also seem to like causing pain and suffering to other sentient beings. As a fellow pastor, how can you justify this position?

You say that hunting is 'proper stewardship', yet you seem to totally ignore what God said immediately after He gave us stewardship of this earth. God gave us plant foods and no animal flesh and pronounced everything He had done as being 'very good'. Why do you not see that this is God's creation intent?

Furthermore, God's heavenly will also contains no death or suffering, and Jesus teaches us to pray for this heavenly will to be done on earth as it is in heaven. Don't you believe Him? And, if you do, why are you working against Him by doing just the opposite?

Surely, the Holy Spirit has caused you to think about some of these things. Why are you ignoring them? We just don't understand.

Killing causes us to harden our hearts. The Lord wants to soften our hearts.

In the Love of the Lord,

Frank and Mary
