Our subjects cover: animals, religion (Christian, Jewish and others); diet and lifestyle (vegan and vegetarian); and other miscellaneous subjects.
While not a Buddhist, I am an ethical vegan and think that Norm's letter is excellent. Incidentally, I was pressured by hospital staff to eat meat when I suffered liver and kidney failure in 1996 (not due to my diet, I hasten to add). I refused, and my recovery was rapid and complete. Health professionals can be very ignorant about diet, and perhaps the Dalai Lama should seek a second opinion from a more well-informed health professional.
