It is written that the Buddha in previous lives gave up those lives so he did not need to harm or kill animals. It was better to die then to do harm.

Could it be that his Holiness is afraid of death....therefore thinks that the prescribed eating of flesh will prolong his life. The Buddha would not have done such things!

He should make an appointment with Dr Fuhrman (he can Google) and discuss why meat eating is giving him any health benefit.
