Dear Andrew:
Thank you for writing back.
Yes, Jesus did tell the disciples when they were fishing to cast they
nets, but the time you cite was the last time they ever went fishing. See:
http://www.all-creatures.org/discuss/john21.1-17.html
The directions Jesus gave the disciples about the weather was not for fishing, but for traveling as fishers of men.
In Genesis 1:26-31 God gave humans rule and dominion over the animals, which was a stewardship position to care and protect the animals, and not to dominate them as corrupt humans have done. Note carefully that part of this was the requirement to eat only plant foods, which God considered to be very good.
In addition to our teeth, look at the amount of stomach acid and length of intestines that we have compared to carnivores.
You are also looking at the instructions that God gave the corrupt and ungodly people to limit their depravity. Instead, focus upon the creation and heavenly will of God, for that is the way that Jesus directed us to live.
We discuss a lot of these things in the Bible section of our web site.
We hope this helps.
In the Love of the Lord,
Frank and Mary
