Dog Training Vs. Abuse

Dear Frank and Mary,
I don't know about what generally happens with guard dogs, since their uses and situations vary so much, but as you would expect most of them do not make suitable pets. Most that I have seen are let loose at night and chained during the day, so they are not socialized. They don't even get along with other dogs. In the country I'd guess that they are shot and in cities they are taken to the pound.
