In Reference to: Matthew 5:20 Righteousness

Hi Marni:

Thank you for another good one.

The Scribes and Pharisees followed the Law, and the Temple practices, where animals were treated as unfeeling commodities. Jesus says we have to exceed their righteousness, which is of this corrupt earth.

Our righteousness must be heavenly to exceed their righteousness and have no place for pain, mourning, suffering, or death, because they donít exist in heaven. Thus, part of living in Godís heavenly will means that we should be vegan and do everything in our power to free creation from its present corruption.
