That is a truly awesome picture of Mother Nature doing her work and the animals trying to escape her cleansing action. I'm sure this picture arouses sympathy for these creatures and hope that they make it to safe ground. At the same time, I'm wondering if the same people have the same sympathy for the animals headed for the slaughter house? What, pray tell, is the difference? In both cases, their instincts inform them of their fate. Do we realize the harm and pain we humans unnecessarily cause to animals everyday just to satisfy our palates?
