Hi Marilyn:
Nowhere in the Bible does it say that God killed any animals for their skins. We simply are not told what kind of skin.
It could have been the shed skin of the serpent, which was to be a reminder of their sin.
God could have just created it as He did everything else.
Or perhaps being created in the image of God could have been a spiritual being much like the resurrected Jesus that the disciples visited with and touched. In this case the skin could have been our skin when we became all human.
I retired from church pastoring (UMC) after many years in 1998 to concentrate on our worldwide internet ministry, which we are still doing to this day.
