Heifer Project International - Inhumanity in the Name of Humanity
Comments by: Frank and Mary Hoffman - 18 Apr 2006

Dear Ann:

No apology necessary.

We don't even need animal agriculture for fertilizer. The most lush plant growth in the world (our forests and other wild areas) produce their own nutrients, and recycle others back into the soil.

Think about something else: The animals you mentioned eat the plants and drink water, and their bodily wasted return to the earth. They don't produce anything new. The dead plant material also decomposes and returns nutrients to the soil. We simply need to think differently and more compassionately.

In the Love of the Lord,

Frank and Mary
