Frank L. Hoffman Interviewed: God Bless America
Comments by Stephen Kaufman - 12 Mar 2003
Nicely put, Frank.
As I see it, unless one's diet expresses non-violence, one's pacifism will (probably correctly) be perceived as weakness and lack of resolve and not a manifestation of core values and beliefs. Such selective pacifism does not compel anyone else to become pacifist themselves. The meat-eating "pacifist" may still favor non-intervention in certain situations, but I for one can't take that person's pacifism seriously. I conclude that it likely reflects pragmatism rather than a commitment to nonviolence.
