Jesus and Fishing

Comments by Jay Young - 26 Mar 2006

Hi Frank and Mary:

Thanks for taking the time to write back...honestly!

Anyway, I am responding to your email letter back that said that Jesus never went fishing...well, I don't concede that, but here is a passage where Jesus helped Peter and the other disciples to catch fish, and he gave both the bread and the fish to them...so, at the very least, he was "an accomplice" to going fishing.

Anyway, here is the passage. I will keep looking for other places that show that Jesus went fishing and ate meat. I may be wrong, but I will look in the Bible and see, first, but I think that there are clear examples in various places where Jesus is found eating with others. Here is the fishing incident, though. It is found in John 21, beginning with the first verse, and through verse 14.

Thanks again. This is interesting!

Jay
