In Reference to: Plants Have Feelings Too?
Hi,
I think you make a good case that vegans are belittled, even by the NYT headline you report.
Still, I think it's insane to suggest that plants may have feelings like animals, vertebrate and invertebrate, and it's equally insane to argue that research might one day show the truth of the statements about plants.
By that token, we can argue that rocks have feelings as well, as does compost and other such things. We can't live on air alone, so the choices we have about eating (and drinking) are pretty limited.
Water contains rotifers and other one-cell entities (I don't think they're plants or animals, in any case), so we'd have to endure thirst because each glass of water we drink makes us pluri-murdrers. We should ban antibiotics, because they kill thousands if not hundreds of thousands of bacteria, who may well be hurt even by penicillin, let alone the super antibiotics slowly coming online.
Enough!
Best,
Antonio
