Dear Barb:
Thank you very much for these encouraging comments. It’s situations like these that tell us that our mutual efforts are working.
It’s wonderful that you spoke to this hunter in front of other people, because his reaction, both physically and verbally had just as much of an impact on the other people as your comments. He got so angry because he knew you were telling the truth and it was making him very uncomfortable, and he is used to responding to his frustrations in anger and violence against animals. Keep it up when you can join in to THEIR conversations as you did this time.
These other pastors know the truth, too, but they fear rocking any boats, including their own. These pastors, like the hunter, don’t want to change their own lifestyles, and/or they are afraid to speak up.
Keep encouraging Kirk, and people like him.
