The Dilemma Caused by Being Vegetarian in a Christian Church

Hi Betty,

Just adding my voice to the chorus: according to Matthew 18:15 ff, you are under no obligation to continue fellowshipping with people whom you believe are acting in unGodly ways----in this case, supporting or ignoring unimaginable human cruelty and abuse to animals.

If the congregants don't want to hear the truth about what their own selfish eating habits do to animals and If the congregation's governance (Board of Elders, Vestry, etc.) doesn't want to correct the unGodly behavior, then you can view them as you would view the unGodly who don't want to hear God's Truth: wipe the dust of your feet and get out of there (Ref. Luke 10:11 and other passages).

"'Vengeance is mine,' said the Lord. 'I will repay.'" .And you won't want to be there when he does.

Blessing in Jesus Christ, Lord of all,

Elyse Bell
