Just a quick note ... apologies; as usual, I'm only managing to skim much of the discourse and am unable to provide much input (not that it's needed; the topic is being covered very well).

I would also like to add a strong recommendation for Vegetarian Friends' "The Peaceable Table". It's always wonderful reading. I first learned of it through an online friend in England with Quaker Concern for Animals, Marian Hussenbux. It's another great way to feel connected with people who are like-minded when it comes to animals.

In fact, I was honored to be profiled in their "My Pilgrimage" feature in the July 2007 issue. And, trust me, that's the least of their excellent reading material, haha...
