The Dilemma Caused by Being Vegetarian in a Christian Church
Comments by Barbara A. Holdeman - 25 Apr 2008

Hello,

I read your article about being a vegan in your church and how many churches do not embrace you. I would like for you to know that there is a Christian organization (church) that has been teaching vegetarianism and healthy lifestyle for over 150 years now.

I am a Seventh Day Adventist Christian today because the average Protestant church I entered did not want to hear at all about what God expects from us as His children, but only what we/they expect from Him.

Jesus did not come to this earth as a man to save us in our sin; He came to save us from our sin! I believe strongly (as does the church) that the Holy Spirit brings us into all truth, including the fact that God would rather we be obedient than to give him a sacrifice.

The bible is full of healthful living principle if only Christians would study the topic. Jesus did not come to make unclean animals clean for us to eat, nor did He ever want us killing each other (man or animal).

Sin brought death into this world and Jesus brings us life. If only Christians could see the compassion of God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, they would not want to harm creation but protect it. We are the caregivers and we are destroying what Jesus has given us. As a Christian I cannot see how He can be pleased with this [killing] mentality. The bible tells us that He will destroy those who destroy the earth. This is not merely the ground or the air, this means everything on the earth including the animal kingdom that He created.

God have mercy on those who do not love Him enough to be obedient to His word and believe that the Holy Spirit gives us the power to overcome sin! The Holy Spirit has been treated as if He is a butler at our beckon call! We are to follow the Spirit not direct Him!

People are damaging their frontal lobe (the bible calls this the frontlets) by what they put in their mouths and this is the reasoning center of our brain. This is where God communicates with us. If ew do not have a sound mind we cannot hear the voice of God! Many Christians today follow feelings. Feelings are Satin's playground. Jesus says, "Come let us reason together." He never said, "Well, how do you feel about that?" Satin loves for us to go by feelings because he is a master of making us feel okay about sin.

God Bless and keep up the good work.
