All Creatures Share the Breath of God
By Tams Nicholson

All creatures share the breath of God,
Each formed by His holy care;
From earth and sea and sky above,
Their lives are bright and fair.
Not ours to harm, nor born to serve,
They sing their Maker’s praise;
We are called to walk with them in gentleness,
Through all our earthly days.

[Pre-Chorus]
Babes that leap and play, each bird flight and flightless,
All fish within the sea —
Living beings in God’s abiding delight of creation,
And He calls us all to be free.

[Chorus]
All creatures share the breath of God,
All creatures share the breath of God,
Freed from the chains of lies and pain,
We are called to live in peace and love.

[Verse 2]
No more torment, pain,
misery, and murdering of lives;
We are called by Him to live in compassion, peace and love,
honoring all His sacred life.
O Holy Spirit, renew our hearts each day
To see with Your holy eyes—
That mercy, loving-kindness, and compassion
shine brightly in our hearts and eyes.

[Bridge]
No blood shall stain our hands again,
No cry be further left unheard;
For God’s love has shown the better way,
And we shall heed His word.

[Chorus]
All creatures share the breath of God,
All creatures share the breath of God,
Freed from the chains of lies and pain,
We are called to live in peace and love.
