"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful.  At the same time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.

Cancer and Exercise – 20 July 2006
By Mary T. Hoffman

CNN health news mentioned that cancer patients who exercise appear to do better than those cancer patients who do not exercise. The news item mentioned that the type of exercise was not indicated in the report.

I wonder if one of the reasons exercisers enjoy better health is because, as a group, they may be more fitness-conscious, resulting in more fruit and vegetable consumption.

In our opinion, they would probably do even better by eating whole, unprocessed vegan foods. And for people who do not have cancer, it would be wise to switch to a healthful vegan lifestyle as a way of preventing disease. Remember the old saying, “Prevention is worth a pound of cure”? This applies to matters of health, too!
