A Mary T. Hoffman Commentary from All-Creatures.org

"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful.  At the same time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.

Skiing in Heaven? – 2 August 2006
By Mary T. Hoffman

Here is a bit of doggerel or curmudgeonly humor inspired (perspired?) by the swelteringly hot and humid weather:

Skiing in Heaven?
By Mary T. Hoffman (Written 31 July 2006)

I doubt there is skiing in Heaven,
Because they have no snow;
And the “other place” below
Is nowhere I’d like to go.

“Till hell freezes over,”
We’ve all heard people say;
But we can only hope and pray
We’ll never see that day.

For as much as it’s fun to ski,
I sure wouldn’t want to be
In “that place” for eternity
Just for another chance to ski!
