"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful. At the same
time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel
called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.
This morning there was a truly bountiful array of fresh fruit and vegetables for sale at the local farm market. Our purchases for this week included cantaloupes, a watermelon, peaches, corn, broccoli, red onions, sweet red peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, cabbage, and butternut squash.
On grocery shopping days during the growing season here, we always stop at the farm market first. After that, we go to the supermarket(s) to complete our list of purchases.
I have a lot of favorite foods, and anything made with butternut squash definitely qualifies!
This yummy recipe is for baked butternut squash stuffed with walnuts,
apple pieces, and raisins:

Butternut squash curry soup is right up there at the top of my favorite
soups list:

I love to snack on the toasted seeds of butternut squash, as well as the
toasted seeds of acorn squash, Hubbard squash, and pumpkins. For our recipe,
