A Mary T. Hoffman Commentary from All-Creatures.org

"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful.  At the same time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.

A Few Words of Wisdom – 12 January 2007
By Mary T. Hoffman

A friend gave us a framed version of the following words of wisdom attributed to George Washington Carver:

“How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young; compassionate with the aged; sympathetic of the striving & tolerant of the weak & the strong. Because someday in life, you will have been all of these.”

In this thoughtful gift, the following words are emphasized so that they stand out: Tender, Compassionate, Sympathetic, and Tolerant. Good advice, don’t you think?
