A Mary T. Hoffman Commentary from

"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful.  At the same time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.

Kangaroos – 24 June 2007
By Mary T. Hoffman

Years ago I heard about the deliberately sadistic killing of kangaroos in Australia. Now I must write something about this because I have learned that over 30 million kangaroos have been killed in the last decade, and at least 3 million young-at-foot, dependent kangaroos have been abandoned to horrible deaths, since their mothers have been killed. In-pouch joeys are killed by stomping on them or bashing them with a stick or against a vehicle.

Learning how Australia’s national symbol is callously exploited just underscores the fact that the corruption and evil in this world is overwhelming! The Australian public is fed lies, just as in other countries and in my own.
