"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful. At the same
time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel
called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.
It is the morning of the sixth anniversary of the horrible attack on our country, and my heart is filled with sadness. There has been a steady rainfall here in upstate New York, and I just heard a rumble of thunder.
Here is something that I wrote for this occasion:
Today the rain, like tears from Heaven, falls
To mourn the dead – victims of those whose
Envy joins evil to destroy instead of reaching
Out to learn and welcome knowledge of Creator God
Who lifts the seeker to a higher ground of love –
Compassion for all that He has made.
When will we all learn to obey the Lord,
And stop creating gods in our own image
To satisfy the twisted, satanic longings
That turn God’s work into a hell on earth
For all the beings who were meant to share
The joy of His Peaceable Kingdom?
