"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful.  At the same time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.

Stop Baby Monkey Torture – 5 February 2008
By Mary T. Hoffman

Baby Monkey

Do you want to help stop the torture of mother monkeys and their babies that are utilized in the totally unnecessary nicotine “research” of Eliot Spindel at the Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU)?

Did you know that, in a shameful waste of money, your tax dollars help fund the NIH (National Institutes of Health) that has given Eliot Spindel 7.6 million dollars since 1992 and is scheduled to continue through 2012?

You can act to stop this travesty now before it’s too late. Right now, please visit:

Here’s how In Defense of Animals urges you to help stop this cruel waste:
Please write polite letters demanding that your tax dollars be redirected from Spindel's experiments into useful efforts to help people stop smoking and to keep our youth from ever starting.
