"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful.  At the same time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.

Subject: Circus Promotion

Dear Mr. Altman:

Surely you are aware of the intrinsic barbarity involved in nonhuman animal “entertainment” as featured in circuses? The extreme suffering involved in “training” animals is well documented, and injuries to human onlookers make the news.

Please stop your promotion of the circus. Such abuse also undermines your efforts in educating children. It’s time to move into the 21st century and take seriously the moral and ethical responsibility to sentient beings – both human and nonhuman. Surely, as a civilized society, we must do no less.
