"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful.  At the same time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.

Re: Public Citizen News, May-June 2008 issue: “Fuel Economy Proposal Lags Behind World,” page 4

The following statement is erroneous:

“It is true that the majority of greenhouse gas emissions come from the combustion of motor fuels –”

Please publish correction:

“Worldwide, livestock generates more greenhouse gases than all forms of transportation combined (18 percent vs. 13 percent).

From: UN News Centre: 29 November 2006: “Rearing cattle produces more greenhouse gases than driving cars, UN report warns”

“Cattle-rearing generates more global warming greenhouse gases, as measured in CO2 equivalent, than transportation….”

“Livestock are one of the most significant contributors to today’s most serious environmental problems,” senior UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) official Henning Steinfeld said. “Urgent action is required to remedy the situation.”
