"Joyful Curmudgeon" An oxymoron?
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful.  At the same time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the world, and feel called to help expose and end it so that we may have true peace and compassion.

Betrayal Spreads – 18 July 2008
By Mary T. Hoffman

As anyone can see, more celebrities than ever are “selling their souls” to promote the industries that cause enormous pain and suffering to God’s creatures. And what is even worse, many individuals and organizations who claim to be “for the animals” and “for animal rights” are allowing themselves to be suckered into this back-stabbing of the least among us and of those people who refuse to join in the betrayal. “Humane” farming and “happy meat and dairy products” are a cynical betrayal of those who cannot speak for themselves – the farmed animals – and of those people who refuse to “sell their souls.”

When I wrote about “betrayal” two years ago, I had no idea that this corruption would become so common. Years ago, I read a comment by a business person who bragged that anyone can be bought. Unfortunately, proof of this cynical statement has become ubiquitous.
