Arsenic in Chicken Feed – 28 August 2008
“Arsenic has been a common additive in factory chicken feed for
nearly 50 years. It is used to kill parasites, reduce stress, and
promote growth in the birds. The practice has long been deemed safe.
Recently, however, scientists have found that the substance turns
carcinogenic rather quickly after application. Arsenic-imbued manure
becomes toxic to the environment when spread as fertilizer. The risk
for those who ingest the meat of treated birds is, in fact, worse than
once thought, particularly since exposure to arsenic is cumulative and
people are eating three times the chicken they once did in the 1960s.”

This gives new meaning to the saying “getting away with murder,”
doesn’t it? J
Just one more reason to go vegan!
And for those who falsely claim that God wants people to eat meat, we
need to ask a very serious question: Why would a loving God want His
children to eat meat that He knows is contaminated with toxic substances
and harmful bacteria? The simple answer is: He wouldn’t. He wants us to
eat the vegan diet he gave us in Genesis 1:29 and 30.
No! I see all the beauty of God's creation and I'm joyful. At the
same time, I see all the suffering and corruption going on in the
world, and feel called to help expose and end it so that we may have true
peace and compassion.
